Demi Lovato Shades Carrie Underwood on ‘X Factor’?

When Carrie Underwood poked fun at celebrity feuds during the CMA Awards recently, little did she know that she’d be the subject of one just a week later: Carrie vs. Demi Lovato!

Yes, it’s almost as random as Kanye vs. Kimmel — but so was the comment that sparked it.

It was a remark by ‘X Factor‘ judge Lovato after contestant Rachel Potter sang the Heart classic ‘Alone.’ After the country wannabe pointed that Carrie had also covered the song, Demi said, “No, you would do better than Carrie Underwood.”

It was said quickly, and was seemingly throwaway, but it wasn’t really Demi’s turn to talk, either. It’s almost as if she was happy to have the chance to shade Carrie. Or maybe she was just annoyed by Simon Cowell‘s criticism of Rachel. Either way, fans on Twitter went NUTS:




Yeah, that last tweet pointed out another reason Demi might have been on edge: With ratings abysmally low, ‘X Factor’ could be facing cancellation.
