Demi Lovato will be performing her latest single 'Skyscraper' live for the first time at the 2011 Do Something Awards. The awards show will air on VH1 on Aug. 18 and were set up in order to honor exceptional young people in the U.S. with a strong commitment to social change.

"If you are expecting anything less than 'wow,' you've got the wrong awards show," Nancy Lublin, CEO of DoSomething.org, said. "We are so psyched to have Demi's first public performance."

In addition to performing, Lovato is also nominated for two Do Something Awards this year. Lovato is nominated in the Do Something Charity Song category for her duet with Joe Jonas on 'Make a Wave,' which benefits Disney's "go-green" initiative dubbed Friends for a Change. Lovato is also up for the Do Something TV Star award for her partnership with Clean and Clear and DoSomething.org "to encourage volunteerism through 'Join the Surge.'"

When it comes to her fellow nominees, Lovato is in more-than-good company. In the TV star category, some of the other candidates include Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson. In the Charity Song category, Lovato is up against Lady Gaga, Beyonce, Cee Lo Green, and pop-punkers My Chemical Romance. The biggest award of the night, however, is the overall Do Something Award, which will be given to one of five nominees who have excelled in making the world a better place.

'Glee' star Jane Lynch is set to host the awards show. The performance lineup also boasts OneRepublic and B.o.B., who will undoubtedly treat viewers to a live rendition of their collaborative remix of 'Good Life.' Indie rock-pop outfit Foster the People are also on the bill. Lublin is also ecstatic to have "a hot breakout band like Foster the People" and tell viewers to "expect OneRepublic with B.o.B to be very loud!"
