Demi Lovato's long-estranged father Patrick is pleading with his famous daughter to call him before he undergoes a life-threatening surgery to extract a tumor from his throat. The cancer-stricken elder Lovato expressed that Demi and her older sister Dallas aren't interested in opening up the lines of communication with him. This isn't the first time that Patrick Lovato has reached out to his daughter via the media, but his requests for a phone call are falling on deaf ears.

"Demi and I haven't spoken in so long and all I want her to do is call her daddy," Mr. Lovato told Radar Online through tears. "I'm begging her the only way I know how. I want to talk with her so badly." He also shared that when Demi was little, they were tight. "We were so close when she was little. My little daughter was my partner, I just love her so much."

Mr. Lovato resorted to even further begging, saying, "I want Demi to know that I would do anything in the world for my little girl, I just want to hear her voice. Demi, please call your daddy!"

It's a heartbreaking situation and is likely difficult for both parties, especially since it's playing out in such public fashion.

For her part, Lovato has spoken about the relationship, or lack thereof, with her dad as recently as November. She said, "Sometimes there are people in your life that you have to cut out. It sucks when it's your own father. But I know what's best for me."
