Demi Lovato Humbled by Favorite Pop Artist Win at 2012 People’s Choice Awards
Still out of breath from performing her new song 'Give Your Heart a Break,' Demi Lovato thanked as many people as she could remember during her acceptance speech for Favorite Pop Artist at the 2012 People's Choice Awards on Wednesday night. The singer said she couldn't believe she was chosen over four other artists she was a huge fan of.
Lovato topped new mommy Beyonce, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga and Rihanna for the win. The honor was announced prior to her performance of the newest single from her 'Unbroken' album. Like the night's other honorees -- thus far in mostly television and movie categories -- she gushed about her fans, making sure they felt the love like she did.
Lovato shined during her brief acceptance speech in a form fitting red dress that swooped down the back of her legs while leaving her plenty of room to dance during the performance. It was the second eye-catching outfit she'd put on so far. Earlier on the red carpet, she wore a sexy but elegant strapless, peach-colored gown that is sure to end up in Best Dressed galleries. The Favorite Pop Artist category is the only one in which the actress-singer was nominated in.
