Digital Underground is one of the most influential rap groups coming out of the Bay Area. Heavily influenced by George Clinton and the P-Funk sound, DU leader Shock G brought a funkier and playful vibe to hip-hop.

DU will be forever remembered for their dance anthem 'Humpty Dance,' which featured Shock G as his rap alias Humpty Hump. But other songs like 'Doowutchyalike,' 'No Nose Job' and 'Same Song' (which introduced the world to the late Tupac Shakur) are favorites in the group's discography.

After approximately 20 years of touring, DU officially disbanded in 2008. However, Shock G continues to record music as a solo artist. And when it comes to making music, Shock G cites love as his inspiration.

"Not just as in romantic love with a woman, but love everywhere in the world around me," he explains. "People making each other laugh and smile, good times with friends & family, anytime harmony's amongst me, it inspires me."
