Zachary Cole Smith of DIIV stopped by the PopCrush headquarters in New York City recently, and the singer-songwriter had his guitar in tow for an exclusive live performance. Introducing the track ‘Human,’ which appears on DIIV’s debut album ‘Oshin,’ Cole said, “I wrote it about life.”

The breezy song is laid back and perfect for a lazy day at the beach or cruising in your car. Although his bandmates are normally with him on stage, Cole is an impressive solo performer. He creates a lush, rich sound with just the aid of a guitar and microphone, as he dreamily strings along the lyrics, “Sunrise waiting I knew myself completely then nothing love though it hasn’t said but youth light fading.”

Check out Cole perform ‘Human’ exclusively at PopCrush above, and add this track to your end of summer playlist ASAP.
