If you're a huge fan of the movie Mulan, we've got some serious news for you! It looks like Disney is continuing with its live-action remakes of movies in its animated film catalog and Mulan is officially next in line.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the studio reportedly purchased a script by Elizabeth Martin and Lauren Hynek that details the legend of Hua Mulan -- the main character of, you guessed it, Mulan. The site goes on to report that Chris Bender and J.C. Spink have signed on to produce the movie. Those are pretty much the sole details we have regarding the film -- no stars are yet attached, no release date or filming schedule. But the recent box office success of the live-action version of Cinderella (the film has reportedly earned $336.2 million worldwide so far), the past success of Alice in Wonderland (which earned over $1 billion dollars) as well as the massive hit of Maleficent (which earned $758.4 million), have made live-action remakes all the more appealing for the studio.

Meanwhile, Disney's upcoming remake for Beauty and the Beast will star former Harry Potter actress Emma Watson as Belle with Luka Evans to star as Gaston. Although Ryan Gosling was originally wanted by the studio to play the role of the Beast, Downtown Abbey's Dan Stevens was in negotiations to play the role instead. Emma posted on Facebook about the role, saying, "My six year old self is on the ceiling – heart bursting. Time to start some singing lessons. I can’t wait for you to see it.”
