DMX is almost as well known for his rap sheet as he is for his rap career. As a result, it wasn't that surprising when the Ruff Ryder got pulled over by police. It was a surprise, however, that he was let go.

DMX (real name Earl Simmons) has previously faced arrests for a plethora of offenses, ranging from insane speeding to probation violations (like refusing a drug test).

TMZ reports that DMX was pulled over last week for one the of the dumbest reasons of all -- he wasn't wearing his seatbelt. Not only is that illegal, it's unsafe! Police ticketed DMX and his assistant for the violation and let go. It was probably a relief to get a slap on the wrist for once instead of handcuffs.

"Just a minor ticket, no biggie," the 'Relationship Rehab' rapper told TMZ. "A quick learning lesson about not wearing a seat belt. I will handle and pay for it. This would be the only reason I come in contact with the police because I am a changed man."

We hope so, otherwise DMX will end up with another warrant -- and likely another article here.
