If anyone could make Doctor Strange, Marvel's red-caped psychic sorcerer, seem just as cool as he is campy looking, it's Benedict Cumberbatch.

Marvel Entertainment has released the first teaser for the film starring the Sherlock actor. Cumberbatch plays a regular surgeon named Dr. Stephen Strange who, following a devastating injury, meets a sorcerer named The Ancient One and learns how to become Doctor F---king Strange.

Jimmy Kimmel Live debuted the trailer on Tuesday night as part of its 'Marvel Week' event. On Monday night, Captain America: Civil War stars Chris Evans, Sebastian Stan, Paul Rudd and Anthony Mackie stopped by to promote their sequel.

As the clip for the upcoming film shows, The Ancient One is played by Tilda Swinton, in a gender-swap from the comics (more notably, this swap also makes the canonically-Tibetan character white). Rachel McAdams and Mads Mikkelson also star, and Chiwetel Ejiofor plays Strange's rival-in-magic, Baron Mordo.

The new Marvel installment's helmed by director Scott Derrickson, who's primarily directed horror films including Sinister and The Exorcism of Emily Rose — perhaps all the better to capture this Marvel story's more mystical vibes?
