Demi Lovato casually dropped her "Waitin For You" video yesterday evening (October 22), and it's a gritty black-and-white affair that sends one message: Mess with Demi, and you'll get one hell of a fight.

The clip contains none of the big-budget bombast of her Robert Rodriguez-directed "Confident" video, instead leveraging drama from every single one of Demi's "mean muggin'" looks. (Or should I say "mean MUGS-in"? No? Sorry, I'll show myself out.) Her ability to convincingly menace a camera lens while she sings the pop-trap fight song reminds the viewer that she's not just a singer, she's an actress too.

Watch the video below, which also features L.A.-based rapper Sirah.

Demi released Confident one week ago, and has been vying with a capella stars Pentatonix for the No. 1 album spot. Meanwhile, the record's been garnering celebrity endorsements from the likes of Scream Queens' Keke Palmer, Scott Foley and Lance Bass. As of Friday morning, it remains to be seen whether this promo push will lift her release to the very top.

Earlier this week we asked Demi fans which Confident track they'd love to see as the next single, and "Waitin For You" is trailing far behind "Kingdom Come" and "Old Ways." Does the video clip make you fall deeper in love with the track? Do you dream of an alternate, rap-feature-free version? Share your thoughts in the comments.
