In the week since Meek Mill accused Drake of using a ghostwriter, the Toronto rapper has made several moves in response: First he issued a track called "Charged Up," in which he alluded to rumors that he'd slept with Meek's girlfriend Nicki Minaj. Today (July 29) he effectively turned a large section of Twitter into that one "screaming" emoji with the white eyes and little emoji-hands grabbing its blue face, issuing a second Meek diss track titled "Back to Back."

Drake — who initially chose to stay quiet as the dust settled around Meek's initial Twitter rant — opens by marveling at the fact that he's now issued two musical responses:"Whoa, very important and very pretentious / When I look back I might be mad that I gave this attention / But it's weighing heavy on my conscience / F---ck you left a boy no options."

He goes on to wonder where Meek's response track is, already, asking "I waited four days n---a, where y'all at?" and says, "I'm not sure what it was that really mad y'all mad / But I guess this is what I gotta do to make y'all rap."

And then Drake goes for the jugular, dragging Meek's girlfriend (and current tour mate) Nicki into this mess:

You love her, then you gotta give the world to her
Is that a world tour or your girl's tour?
I know that you gotta be a thug for her
This ain't what she meant when she told you to open up more
Yeah, trigger fingers turn to Twitter fingers
You getting bodied by a singing n---a
I'm not the type of n---a that'll type to n---as
Shout out to all my boss bitches wife-in' n---as!

Nicki is, of course, Drake's longtime friend and collaborator, so these insults are an uncharacteristically low blow on his part — though the overall tenor of the track is "Now, usually I don't do this, but..." He ultimately predicts that Nicki will soon cut Meek loose, rapping, "I don't wanna hear about this ever again/ Not even when she tell 'em that they better as friends." Ouch.

Drake dismisses the ghostwriting charges outright, rapping "This for ya’ll that think that I don’t write enough / They just mad ’cause I got the Midas touch." If anything has been established this week, it's that the majority of people don't seem to care whether Drake's gotten a writing assist or two. Ghostwriters and credited verse-doctors are an open secret in the rap community, and even if Aubrey Graham did ever employ one, he's built up a Teflon wall of adoration with his charm and lyrical delivery.

As for Meek, he was in Drake's hometown last night for the latest show on The Pinkprint Tour. This is the closest thing to a lyrical response he's shared online. Shots...uh...screams fired?
