Drake, ‘Hold On, We’re Going Home’ – Song Meaning

Drake's dreamy, butter smooth R&B track 'Hold On, We're Going Home' is certainly a sexy, sultry love song. We'd be lying if we said it didn't make us think it was about his ex Rihanna. Ironically, the song boasts croony parts that like something that her ex Chris Brown might sing.

That said, we're breaking down the meaning of Drake's 'Hold On, We're Going Home.'

The narrator wants it all – love and sex, her body and her mind. He can't forget her. EVER! Sounds like RiRi, doesn't it? All powerful loves leave a mark and such is the case here.

"It's hard to do these things alone / Just hold on we're going home (home)."

Essentially, in the song's maaaaj catchy chorus, Drake is comparing love in this relationship to being at home. It's comfortable. It's warm, cozy and familiar. Want some further proof? Well, we're glad you asked, since the Canadian rapper pretty much says it in another part of the song.

"You're the girl / You're the one / Gave you everything I love."

The "one" is usually the way someone refers to the girl they want to marry and give everything that they love to. Clearly, Drizzy was not kidding in the early part of the song when he said that she left a mark and he still wants her. He is under the spell and there is no breaking it.
