After winning top honors at the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards, YMCMB continued their winning streak nabbing several trophies at the BMI Urban Awards in Beverly Hills, Calif., on Friday (Sept. 7). Both Drake and Lil Wayne shared the Songwriter of the Year title, while Nicki Minaj earned the Song of the Year award for 'Super Bass.'

Among the song credits helping Drizzy and Weezy both garnered their songwriter of the year honors include hits like 'I'm One,' 'She Will,' 'Right Above It' and 'The Motto.' Minaj's credits include 'Fly,' 'Super Bass' and 'Moment 4 Life' from her debut album 'Pink Friday.'

Other winners include Trey Songz, Eminem, Ester Dean, Chris Brown, Big Sean and Mac Miller, who won BMI's first-ever Social Star Award, which was determined by Twitter votes. In addition, Andrew "Pop" Wansel, who co-produced Elle Varner's big hit 'Only Wanna Give It to You,' was named Producer of the Year for his production work on hit songs from Busta Rhymes, Kelly Rowland and Britney Spears, among others.

But the highlight of the night was Mariah Carey receiving the prestigious BMI Icon award for her long-standing and impressive career in the music industry. The veteran songbird, who will judge on 'American Idol' this season, was treated with a musical tribute by Jermaine Dupri, Fantasia ('Hero'), Joe ('We Belong Together') and Eric Benét ('One Sweet Day').

Afterward, Mimi graced the stage to accept the honor and give thank-yous to those who have help guide her career. “I’m just humbled and thankful and grateful," she said. "Thank you for blessing me with this moment."
