Former Danity Kane members Aubrey O’Day and Shannon Bex have risen from the ashes of their former urban-pop girl group to form dumblonde. The blonde dance-pop duo have been teasing their musical project for weeks, but on Friday July 17 O'Day and Bex finally shared the music they've been working on together, starting with debut single "White Lightning," which also received the video treatment with a sexy black-and-white clip that premiered on Us Weekly.

In addition to premiering the video for "White Lightning," dumblonde also put their self-titled debut album, due September 25, on iTunes for pre-order this weekend. Fans can already immediately purchase five tracks off the album, including "White Lightning," "Eyes On Horizon," "Tender Green Life," "Remember Me," and "Dreamsicle." O'Day and Bex both co-wrote and co-produced the record.

“Our sound is completely different than anything our fans were used to with Danity Kane,” O’Day told Us Weekly in an interview. “We creatively controlled every aspect: from styling, shooting, producing, editing, writing... Literally everything.”

The duo first met back in 2005 when they were contestants on Diddy's MTV series Making The Band. Along with D. Woods, Dawn Richard, and Aundrea Fimbres, the girls won the show and created the popular girl group Danity Kane. The band spawned three albums and a number of hit singles, including 2008's R&B pop hit "Damaged," which reached No. 10 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart.

O'Day and Bex officially left the group in 2014, forming dumblonde. And while as a band Danity Kane had more of an urban-pop and R&B-infused sound, dumblonde seems to be taking more of a dance/electro-pop approach with their debut. One thing that hasn't changed? The sex appeal, duh!
