Hulu

The world has lost yet another beloved actor this week.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Ed Nelson, an actor who had more than 200 credits to his name and who fans lovingly remember as Dr. Michael Rossi on the ’60s drama, ‘Peyton Place,’ died on Saturday, Aug. 9. He was 85.

Nelson became most prominent during his five-year run on ‘Peyton Place,’ later reprising his role in the TV movies ‘Murder in Peyton Place’ and ‘Peyton Place: The Next Generation’. But even before ‘Peyton Place,’ Nelson boasted an impressive amount of television credits, including ‘The Twilight Zone,’ ‘The Alfred Hitchcock Hour,’ ‘Rawhide,’ ‘The Rebel,’ ‘Have Gun Will Travel,’ and many, many more.

After ‘Peyton Place,’ Nelson continued to act on the small screen, with roles in such iconic TV shows like ‘Charlie’s Angels,’ ‘Murder She Wrote,’ ‘Dynasty,’ and more. According to IMDB, his final role was in the 2003 movie, ‘Runaway Jury.’

Variety reports that Nelson is survived by his wife Patricia (whom he was married to for 63 years), six children, 14 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.

R.I.P., Ed Nelson. Our thoughts are with his family and friends during this difficult time.
