We are sad to report that actress Elizabeth Norment has passed away at the age of 61.

Elizabeth's sister confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter, that the actress passed away earlier this month (Oct. 13) at Memorial Sloan Ketting Cancer Center in New York.

Elizabeth most recently starred opposite Kevin Spacey in season 2 of the hit Netflix show 'House of Cards,' but her career was impressive long before that. According to the Hollywood Reporter, after graduating from the Yale School of Drama, Elizabeth went on to become a founding member of the American Repertory Theatre. She had a recurring role on 'Law & Order' and appeared in shows like 'ER,' 'Party of Five,' and the movie 'Romy and Michele's High School Reunion,' just to name a few.

House of Cards producer Beau Wilimon released a statement about her death, saying: "Everyone at 'House of Cards' is deeply saddened by Elizabeth’s passing. She was a talented actress, a warm soul and a good friend to us all."

Our thoughts are with Elizabeth's family during this difficult time.
