Ellie Goulding vs. Cher Lloyd – Battle of the Brits, Round 2

The second duo in the Pop Solo category to advance in our Battle of the Brits competition are Ellie Goulding and Cher Lloyd! They may have seven years between them and entirely different musical styles, but both of these gals are equally fierce and energetic, and that much closer to claiming the overall title.

In order to advance, Ellie Goulding had to beat out Scottish-born songstress Emeli Sande, who has been dominating the airwaves with her hit single 'Next to Me.' It was some tough competition, but the 'Lights' songstress prevailed, culling more than 57% percent of the votes.

Meanwhile, Cher Lloyd and her bubbly personality had no problem taking on Olly Murs, despite both getting their start on 'X Factor.' Murs -- with his adorable ditties and singer-songwriter talent -- was no match for the pint-sized singer, who has collaborated with A-listers like Demi Lovato and Big Time Rush (on a single and on TV, respectively). The 'Want U Back' singer ended up with over 75% of the votes!
