Emblem3, a band (but don't call them a boy band!) consisting of two brothers and their friend, stormed the 'X Factor' stage and performed an original song called 'Sunset Boulevard.'  The Huntington Beach natives were portrayed as skater bros before taking the stage, and even engaged in a rivalry with a fellow contestant and ex-boy band member.

By the time Emblem3 were in front of the 'X Factor' judges, the crowd was already on their feet for the boys, ages 15-19.  L.A. Reid warned them they had better be good if they were going to sing an original song -- and then the beat of 'Sunset Boulevard' kicked in, and the crowd immediately went wild for the rap-tinged pop number, written about their hometown of Los Angeles.

The arrangement suited their thin voices, and the rapped verses really elevated the song.  The crowd cheered throughout and led a long standing ovation when it was done.

L.A. told the group, "I don't like you, I love you." Britney Spears told them they were funky and smooth. Demi Lovato began to flirt with the group, telling them they were cute. Some banter with Simon Cowell ensued about her crush.  Simon followed with some high praise, telling them he loved the audition from start to finish and predicted, "big things for you guys going forward." Four yeses followed for the young group.

Simon is trying to make this the year a group wins 'The X Factor,' and Emblem3 might be his best shot so far.
