PEOPLE reports that Emma Bunton, aka Baby Spice of the Spice Girls, has welcomed her second child! Son Tate entered the world today, weighing 7 lbs. Dad is Bunton's fiancée, British chef Jade Jones, who was once a singer, as well. Bunton and Jones became engaged in January.

Bunton's rep released the following statement on the joyous occasion: "Both mother and baby are doing well and the family are over the moon and would like to thank everyone for their kind wishes and support."

But Bunton, 35, didn't leave it to her publicist to make the only comment. She also took to Twitter to let the world know about her bundle of joy. She tweeted: "Our beautiful son Tate has arrived safe and sound! We are all so happy and excited. Thanks and love to you all." This tweet is more proof that we are slaves to the digital age, as the pop star was tweeting so soon after giving birth, which is one of the most stressful things to happen to a woman's body during her lifetime. More power to her!

The couple also have a 3-year-old son, Beau.

The Spice Girls' extended family will expand even further this summer, as Victoria Beckham, aka Posh Spice, is expecting her fourth child -- a girl -- with soccer star hubby David Beckham.
