Hollywood golden couple Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone have officially called it quits on their three-year relationship, proving even further that 2015 deserves to be deemed The Year of the Breakup.

A source reportedly told PEOPLE magazine that the couple broke up a few months ago, saying, “There was no drama, they’ve been apart while working. They still care about each other. They still have love for one another. They are on good terms with each other and remain close.”

The breakup reports come months after rumors began flying that Garfield and Stone took a break that was due, in part, to their vastly different schedules. Back in May, a source told E! News that the couple was still together, they just didn’t have the time to see each other because of work: "It was always a 'break' due to schedules. They have been really busy, so they finally have had time to see each other again. They care for each other and always have the best time when together."

The former couple have been notoriously tight-lipped about their private lives in the past. Stone even addressed their approach to personal questions during an interview with the Wall Street Journal.

She said (quotes via E! News), "See, I never talk about this stuff for this exact reason—because it's all so speculative and baseless. Once you start responding—once you're like, 'No, that's not true'—then they're like, 'Well, if we push enough, we'll get a comment, so let's see what else we can make up.' I understand the interest in it completely, because I've had it, too. But it's so special to me that it never feels good to talk about, so I just continually don't talk about it.”

She continued, saying, "There's probably some rebelliousness that comes out in me after all these stories and people texting you for weeks about something that, for the most part, is not true. But even when it's false, I would rather just let it be false."
