As far as Jennifer Lawrence is concerned, Emma Stone is a perfect angel whose tongue would dissolve before she said something insulting ("Emma’s never had a bad thought about anybody in her life" were J. Law's exact words). But a potential new role might just help the actress to tap into a dormant dark side — or, at the very least, encourage her to take up smoking long cigarettes and saying "darling" to excess.

According to The Hollywood Reporterthe Irrational Man star is in talks to play the loathsome, fur-obsessed Cruella De Vil from 101 Dalmatians in a new live-action origin story. Glenn Close most recently played the villain in 1996's live-action remake of the 1961 animated film.

The story of 101 Dalmatians centers on a couple — Roger and Anita — whose dalmatians have a litter of puppies. De Vil, Anita's former classmate, offers to buy the puppies with plans to kill them and fashion their hides into garments, but is rebuffed. So, she hires henchmen to steal the dogs away from Roger and Anita.

Terra Nova creator Kelly Marcel is writing the script for the unnamed movie, which THR reports should begin filming later in 2016. Andrew Gunn will produce the project.
