Fresh off the stage at Wild Splash in Tampa, Florida, Fat Joe conducted a video interview with 94.1 radio, talking about the energy he gets from performing live, his love for deceased rapper Big Pun, and plans for his 11th studio album.

Talking to wild 94.1's Scantman about rapping in front of 15,000 people at the show, which also featured Snoop Dogg and Wiz Khalifa, Joe exclaimed "incredible energy, I'm happy to be here! It's a good vibe, the kids are out there, everybody's showing love. The best aspect of my career is actually getting to perform the songs."

When asked about what he's up to musically, Fat Joe -- who by the way looked rather svelte -- reported "well we're working in the studio right now, we're cooking it up, new album this summer, you know, we're excited it's crazy. It's going to be amazing man, we just started working, it feels great."

As is apparently tradition, Fat Joe's set featured an extended tribute to his departed friend and peer Big Pun, who he explained was "my favorite rapper ever, you know, as long as Joe's here doing his thing, we will always remember Big Pun."

Fat Joe's most recent album, 2010's 'The Darkside, Vol. 1,' was released last summer. He joined the calvalcade of hip-hop stars sending out tributes in the wake of Nate Dogg's passing today, tweeting "Rest in Peace Nate Dogg We'll Always Love You!!!!"
