Did Fifth Harmony make the best group album of 2015? The verdict's yet to be delivered, but according to Billboardthe ladies are the tops either way.

This morning (November 10), the site announced that 5H will be honored with the Group of the Year award at Billboard's forthcoming Women in Music event, at which they'll also perform. The ceremony will be filmed on December 11 and is set to air December 18 on Lifetime.

"Can't even put into words how honored we are," the band's Twitter account noted shortly after the news broke. But Janice Min, co-president of Billboard's parent group, was happy to spell it out.

"Fifth Harmony defines the consummate group dynamic: five women with a strong, united voice and a commitment to celebrating female empowerment," Min said. "In the few short years since they formed on The X Factor this diverse group of women has managed to make chart-topping music, develop a legion of passionate fans around the world and use their platform to promote self-esteem."

The awards will also honor Lady Gaga as Woman of The Year, Lana Del Rey as Billboard's Trailblazer and Selena Gomez as Chart Topper recipient. Demi Lovato will receive Billboard's very first Rulebreaker distinction.

Gaga, Lovato, Gomez and Alabama Shakes' Brittany Howard, who's set to receive the Powerhouse artist award, will also perform.

Think 5H are worth the distinction? Sound off on their big honor!
