The latest Florence + the Machine music video, 'Never Let Me Go,' is a visually captivating clip with powerful imagery, even if we can't quite follow the plot.

The lyrics of the song are a bit cryptic, as Florence Welch sings, "And the arms of the ocean are carrying me / And all this devotion was rushing out of me / In the crushes of Heaven for a sinner like me / But the arms of the ocean delivered me."

The video is equally challenging to comprehend, with a dark visual in which Welch has long black hair and wears black clothes. There's an apparent love story involving Welch's character and a light-haired gent. They meet up at an ice skating rink and embrace on the ice, while an unidentified figure watches from a distance.

As the song reaches its climax, the fellow has disappeared, and with her brief moment of happiness cruelly interrupted, Florence begins bleeding black blood from her forehead. Evidently, Florence's suitor should not have let her go!

'Never Let Me Go' is the latest single from Florence + the Machine's gold-certified 'Ceremonials' album. A live version of the track appears on the group's upcoming 'MTV Unplugged' release.
