Florence Welch of Florence + the Machine, despite being in the public eye often, remains pretty enigmatic about her life outside of her ethereal style and killer pipes. In a new interview, she reveals five secrets and a penchant for hip-hop -- and that she has a fantastic sense of humor. After singing the opening notes of Usher's 'Confessions,' Flo revealed that she abstains from alcohol to preserve her voice on the road. "It was almost a bummer when I found out that it did work," she laughed. "I was like, 'Aw no!' I'd set this level and now I can't go back to the way it was. I should never have tried!" Welch explained, "The voice is like a muscle, and if you take care of it, you can feel it getting stronger. I'm really enjoying reaching those places, that euphoria -- without the 'help.'"

Welch, who provided the song 'Breath of Life' for 'Snow White and the Huntsman,' doesn't have a favorite traditional fairy tale. Turns out her creativity isn't limited to music -- she and her sister used to make up their own! But true to her fashionista form, style played a huge role in the stories. "It would always revolve around what we were wearing," Welch laughed. "So my mom would be trying to tell us this story, and there would be a plot and some kind of adventure, and me and my sister would just be like, 'No, I would have a crown of rubies, but we'd have emerald shoes and my dress would be made out of pure gold!'" The mental image of a tiny, bejeweled Florence Welch is almost too cute.

Welch revealed she'd also like to go West -- Kanye West, that is. She said she'd love to collaborate with Yeezy, noting, "We're both sort of maximalists. We could get matching suits," she joked. "It would be big. Big drum sounds."

One thing that may delay a duet? Welch's "obsession" with Usher. Find out why in the video below!
