Actor JJ Murphy, who had just begun filming scenes for 'Game of Thrones,' passed away at age 86.

According to the Guardian, the actor reportedly collapsed and died on Friday, Aug. 8. He was only four days into his work on the hit HBO series. He had recently been cast as Ser Denys Mallister, the oldest member of the Night’s Watch.

The Guardian reports that Murphy's agent, Phillip Young, says the actor was “absolutely delighted” about working on 'Game of Thrones,' “one of the biggest productions in the world at this stage in his career.”

According to the Guardian, 'Game of Thrones' producers have not announced if they will recast Murphy's character or rewrite any scenes he was expected to film.

According to Deadline, the actor had a successful theater career and was cast in such films as 'Angela's Ashes' and 'Mickybo and Me.' Murphy will appear in the upcoming film 'Dracula Untold,' which is set to be released in October.
