Gigi Hadid may be the latest female celebrity to be targeted with an invasive data theft. The model, who US Weekly claims is newly dating Zayn Malik [Ed. note: US Weekly mysteriously scrubbed their exclusive on GiZayn from the internet an hour after posting], has allegedly been hacked by a group who say they'll leak her photos if she doesn't pay up, according to TMZ.

As with 2014's high-profile iCloud hack, in which Jennifer Lawrence and Kaley Cuoco were just two of at least a dozen women who saw their private and sometimes nude pictures hit the internet, the story reports that Gigi's photos and videos were stolen. To her credit, TMZ claims Gigi refuses to bend to the blackmail threats and has enlisted both law enforcement and hired a private investigator in hopes of catching the perpetrators.

Whether Hadid's stolen media includes nude photos is unknown, but that hasn't stopped the Twitter peanut gallery from already saying things like, "this wouldn't happen if women stop taking naked pictures of themselves on their iPhones." Actually, this wouldn't happen if hackers would stop illegally stealing private photos from famous women (and it's nearly always women) and sharing pictures that were typically intended for one person only.

Following the leak of Jennifer Lawrence's iCloud photos, she told Vanity Fair that the pictures were meant for her long-distance boyfriend and "It’s my body, and it should be my choice, and the fact that it is not my choice is absolutely disgusting. I can’t believe that we even live in that kind of world.” To have your pictures stolen is a violation, and shaming that person for a perceived lack of discretion is victim-blaming.

Whether the reportedly stolen items include nudes, bad-angle selfies or videos of Gigi watching Dance Moms marathons while eating pizza with just her feat, here's hoping she's able to stave off a leak. In the meantime, check out Gigi's slicked-back bob and more looks at the 2015 American Music Awards.
