The statuesque Gigi Hadid has a look that's exciting high fashion designers. More importantly, she's got a backbone resolute enough to dismiss those who aren't so keen what she's got to offer.

After a recent string of runway shows, Hadid had the unfortunate experience of stumbling upon some online-hate—some followers critiqued her body type, while others took issue with her unconventional walk. Bent on proving she's not the type to lie down and take abuse, she tweeted a message yesterday (September 28) that proved her skin's thick enough to survive the cutthroat industry.

"No, I don't have the same body type as other models in shows," she wrote. "No, I don't think I'm the best in any given show. Yes I want to have a unique walk but I also know I have to improve."

Hadid moved on to say she understands the nature of the beauty business, and that while she's some people's tastes, she's not ideal for others. Still, that doesn't mean she'll throw in the towel anytime soon.

"I'm just doing my job," she continued. "Your mean comments don't make me want to change my body, they don't make me want to say no to the designers that ask me to be in their shows and they definitely don't change the designers' opinions of me."

"...I'm not going anywhere," she added. "If I didn't have the body I do, I wouldn't have the career I do. I love that I can be sexy. I'm proud of it."

And a last little message for those haters to chew on?

"I hope everyone gets to a place in their life where they'd rather talk about things that inspire them over the things that bring others down."

And you can count catwalk legend Tyra Banks among the former.

"I FEEL U!" Banks tweeted in response. "I'm so proud of U. So many people LUV you & U have curves! Do u, boo!"
