The musical sitcom 'Glee' has been committed to providing and promoting musical education in schools since its inception. To further this mission, their 500th musical performance (the song 'Shout' from the classic film 'Animal House') will directly benefit the Give a Note Foundation.

Columbia Records and Twentieth Century Fox Television will be awarding 100 percent of the proceeds earned from the single from March 5 through the end of the season to the foundation, which strives to expand musical opportunities to all children.

'Glee' and Give a Note previously joined forces for the campaign GLEE Give a Note, which donated $1 million to struggling music programs across 73 schools nationwide.

The FOX program has also held a charity event alongside American Express to benefit Education Through Music Inc. and donated a portion of proceeds (from the download of 'Last Christmas') for the GRAMMY in the Schools education program in 2009. 100 percent of the sales of 'Do They Know It's Christmas' also went to The Band Aid trust in 2011.

The cast's 500th performance will air this Thursday, March 7 at 9:30PM EST in the brand-new episode 'Girls (And Boys) On Film'. Don't forget to tune in, Gleeks!
