‘Glee’ Getting Rid of Major Cast Members for Season 5

Glee’ fans might not be so gleeful to learn that a bunch of original cast members won’t be returning for Season 5 of the popular FOX musical drama series. Among the beloved actors leaving the show are Mark Salling (Puck), Heather Morris (Brittany), Harry Shum Jr. (Mike), Amber Riley (Mercedes) and Dianna Agron (Quinn).

Let’s be honest – this isn’t exactly a huge shock. Most of the aforementioned characters graduated high school at the end of Season 3 and many of them barely appeared in Season 4 (not to mention, Morris is pregnant with her first child in real life), so it’s unlikely that they would have stuck around for too much longer.

However, just because they’re not slated to return this fall doesn’t mean we’ll never see them again. Cast members are known to resurface as “occasional guest stars,” and we hope they might make some special appearances in the future.

Season 5 of ‘Glee’ premieres on Thursday, Sept. 19; be sure to mark your calendars!
