Demi Lovato was confirmed as the host of the 2012 Teen Choice Awards, taking the baton from last year's host, Kaley Cuoco of 'The Big Bang Theory.' Even after FOX released a solo promo pic of the 'Give Your Heart a Break' singer and 'X Factor' judge, it was announced that she would be getting an assist. 'Glee' actor Kevin McHale, who plays wheelchair-bound Artie, will serve as Lovato's co-host.

While we're sure Lovato could handle the gig on her own, the addition of a male counterpart to play off of will keep things interesting -- there's sure to be lots of fun and cute banter. Plus, Kev can hold down the fort if Demi needs to go offstage for a costume change.

"Demi and I have been friends for years, and I'd like to thank her for letting me in on the fun co-hosting Teen Choice 2012," McHale said in a statement about his addition to the show and handling of the hosting duties (quotes via MTV).

He continued, "It's exciting to finally be working together professionally and I'd like to welcome her to the FOX family. This is going to be a great show."

Since they're already pals, they should have killer co-host chemistry. We're banking on it.

Tune in Sunday, July 22 at 8PM EST to watch the Teen Choice Awards broadcast.
