‘Glee’ Starlet Lea Michele Follows Her Instincts When It Comes to Fashion

Earlier this year when 'Glee' star Lea Michele walked the red carpet at the Golden Globes, the actress turned many heads with her gorgeous black gown. But it was a happy accident coming across that dress; she earned raves from fashion critics, who calls the gown one of the "most memorable" dresses of the entire awards show.

"Ryan Murphy had told me, 'Don’t wear black [to the Golden Globes]. You should never wear black,'" Michele tells InStyle. "So my stylist pulled floral, beautiful colors [to chose from]."

After looking through several options, Michele took a bathroom break, which turned out to be one of the best timed moments for the actress. "As I’m walking to the bathroom to try them on, I see the Oscar [de la Renta] dress hanging up in [my stylist's closet," she recalls. "I said 'I’m wearing that!' And I called Ryan, and said, 'Ryan, I’m wearing black!'"
