Did you catch the commercial for the upcoming season of 'Glee'? If not, it basically involves evil cheerleading coach Sue Sylvester (aka actress Jane Lynch) nailing members of the New Directions with red dodgeballs as they try and escape her dead-on aim. Not only is the clip witty and comical, it is made even better with the help of a great and very appropriate backing track.

The song blasting throughout Sylvester's onslaught of bouncy balls is a 'Glee' cover of the classic Go-Go's tune 'We Got the Beat.' The song was released by the all-girl pop rock group in 1980, but the song's uptempo tune and even more up upbeat message has lived on. 'We Got the Beat' was written by Go-Go's vocalist Charlotte Caffey and peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 during the group's heyday. In addition to their single 'Our Lips Are Sealed,' 'We Got the Beat' quickly became a huge hit off of the band's debut album, 'Beauty and the Beat.'

Apparently, the 'Glee' cast will perform 'We Got the Beat' on the Season 3 premiere, which is set to air on Sept. 20. We wonder how the feel-good track will be incorporated into the script! With lyrics like "See the kids just getting out of school / They can't wait to hang out and be cool," the Go-Go's track seems like a perfect fit for the misfits of McKinley High.
