The Goo Goo Dolls have released a new single called 'All That You Are,' which will appear on the soundtrack to the highly-anticipated film 'Transformers: Dark of the Moon.'

'All That You Are' is a mid-tempo, acoustic guitar-driven love song -- like just about every single the Goos have released over the past decade. Even as their album sales have declined, the band has scored 10 Top 10 hits on the Adult Pop Songs chart since 2000.

So while the track doesn't offer anything we haven't heard before, Goo Goo Dolls fans who never left the bandwagon will find a lot to like, including strings and a strong performance from singer John Rzeznik.

Whatever faults Rzeznik may have, he could sing the phone book and make it sound like an epic movie theme. Here, he professes his love with a series of vague platitudes: "Yeah, all the things that you are / Beautifully broken, alive in my heart / And know that you are everything / Let your heart sing and tonight, we light up the stars / All that you are."

The lack of originality from the Goo Goo Dolls these days is unfortunate. But, like the band's 1998 smash hit 'Iris,' 'All That You Are' does have an emotional quality that could shine through if it's featured in just the right scene in the movie.
