Halsey is not happy with Urban Outfitters.

The 20-year-old singer tweeted the controversial retailer earlier today (August 25), writing, ".@UrbanOutfitters you leak my album 2 weeks early + now sell physical copies in store 3 days before release? What kind of company are you?"

Urban Outfitters did not respond to her tweet publicly, but Halsey deleted it shortly after posting.

It looks like Urban Outfitters did mistakenly ship out copies of Halsey's debut album Badlands a few weeks early, which a fan then uploaded online. And judging by the second half of Halsey's tweet, it seems shipment made its way onto the floor of at least one store before its August 28 release date.

It's frustrating for sure, but not a rare and surprising occurrence, as a thing called "human error" does exist. Album leaks have happened to pretty much every mildly successful artist on the planet whose popularity has at some point coincided with the existence of the Internet. It even happened to the Harry Potter books!

Whichever lowly employee stocked those Badlands albums in-store probably didn't realize their mistake, because communication between a store's various departments is often nonexistent. Anyone who's ever had the misfortune of working in retail (and, specifically, at an Urban Outfitters) is probably at least vaguely aware of this. It sucks and it's disappointing and we feel for Halsey, but Urban Outfitters has done far worse than mistakenly put out an album a few days ahead of schedule.

Of course, that's not to say Halsey's upset is not warranted here, it just seems a little misplaced. In any case, her fan base has shown an unprecedented level of devotion to the "New Americana" singer -- take one look at Tumblr and you'll see Halsey fans threatening to report anyone who leaks the album online.

Whether the now-deleted tweet will negatively affect Halsey's relationship with Urban Outfitters (which includes an upcoming September 3rd show at the company's SoHo location in New York City) remains to be seen. Hopefully the deletion of her tweet  indicates some sort of resolution between the two.
