Hilary Duff and her husband, Mike Comrie, first announced their separation back in Jan. 2014, after being married for three-and-a-half years out of the seven they were together. According to sources close to the couple, "They're better as friends." So it should come as no surprise that Hilary has officially filed for divorce today (Feb. 20). But according to TMZ, the reason Hilary chose to file the papers now has to do with Mike's partying ways.

TMZ goes on to report that sources close to Hilary and Mike say the decision comes after Mike was allegedly seen "drunkenly propositioning women" at a restaurant in Beverly Hills. Hilary is reportedly citing irreconcilable differences as the reason behind the divorce and has listed their date of separation as Jan. 2013.

Hilary has reportedly also asked for primary physical custody of the couple's two-year-old son, Luca. She is in favor of Mike having visitation rights to see his child, but allegedly thinks his drinking could have a negative effect on Luca. Hilary and Mike have remained on friendly terms since the announcement of their separation, being photographed together often while caring for their son.

The couple reportedly signed a prenup before marrying, which is bound to ensure a less messy divorce process. Page Six first reported about the prenup that "It was a totally amicable agreement. They love each other very much and knew this was just a technicality." Hilary and Mike first began dating in 2007 and were married in 2010. According to the New York Daily News, they attempted marriage counseling for 18 months before ultimately deciding to separate.

We wish them both the best in their separate endeavors.
