Idina Menzel Dyes Hair Blond, Officially Turns Into Queen Elsa [PHOTO]

Idina Menzel's transformation into Queen Elsa of Arendelle is complete: She just dyed her hair blond!

The Broadway sensation and Frozen actress debuted her new hair color on Twitter Thursday night (March 19) with a straightforward selfie. (Check it out above!)

"Look what me and my girl @jenytamera did today. Needed a change. Loving it!" the "Let It Go" singer captioned the photo, which flaunted her new blond layers and her totally Elsa-esque fur coat. "#brunettetoblonde #blondehairdontcare."

While we're used to Menzel as a brunette, we're loving her decision to go lighter. Clearly, it was time to "let it go" — "it" being her rich brown locks — and opt for something fun, flirty and completely different. And while her flaxen hair is a warmer shade of blond than her cartoon counterpart's icy platinum, it's obviously impossible to not draw parallels to Elsa. Seriously, now all Idina Menzel needs is the most flawless braid in the history of animated Disney films and we'll pretty much be over the moon.

Of course, Menzel's brunette-to-blond transition comes just a few weeks after Disney announced that a Frozen sequel is officially in the works. And it also coincides with the release of the highly anticipated Frozen short, Frozen Fever, which is currently playing in theaters before Disney's live-action Cinderella. So basically, there is a ton of Frozen hype going on right now and Idina Menzel — Elsa herself! — just added to it in an amazingly huge way.
