The first act eliminated on 'X Factor' by the discerning American voting public was Intensity, the group of 10 performers the judges assembled to form their own group, thanks to the show's process.

During auditions, the judges felt the members as individuals weren't quite right for the competition -- and that performing as solo artists wasn't their bag, so they threw them together to form a brand new group! While Intensity certainly, as Simon Cowell said, fill a gap in the market and could easily step into the dancing shoes of the current 'Glee' cast, something wasn't quite right and America wasn't willing to push them closer to $5 million and a Pepsi commercial.

Both Intensity and Stereo Hogzz from Paula Abdul's "Groups" category were camped out at the bottom of the voter rankings, so each had to perform one final song for the judges, who then decided each of their fates. Intensity performed 'My Life Would Suck Without You,' which is a sentiment their mentor Abdul is likely feeling right now.

Here's how the judging shook out: Simon said his decision was based purely on two performances he had just seen and that he was not taking into account last night's show. That's why he voted to keep Intensity on the island, for lack of a better word. He turned out to be the only one who did.

Each remaining sentimental judge tried to get a few extra words in edgewise while host Steve Jones abruptly interrupted and told them to move it along since time on the advertiser clock was ticking! So while Abdul, Nicole Scherzinger and L.A. Reid valiantly attempted to espouse the virtues of Intensity, they were left with a scant few seconds to vote against then.

It was nice knowing Intensity. 'X Factor' put them together; let's hope it doesn't tear them apart!
