Though she lost out on the role of Eponine in 'Les Miserables,' Taylor Swift still has silver screen aspirations. The 'Eyes Open' singer is rumored to be shoe-in to play legendary singer-songwriter Joni Mitchell.

Swift's role as Mitchell would be in the film 'Girls Like Us,' which chronicles the lives of Mitchell, Carly Simon and Carole King, based on the book of the same name. Variety reports that Swift hasn't received an official offer for the part just yet, but the whispers of her involvement have been growing steadily louder for months, especially since other starlets have started auditioning for King and Simon.

This would be Swift's first major dramatic role, following a bit part in the comedy 'Valentine's Day' and providing the voice of Audrey in 'The Lorax.' Both of Swift's films have done extremely well in the box office, but that isn't the only reason producers are likely interested in her for the part. Along with the instant PR the movie will receive from merely having her name attached, Swift shares Mitchell's blond hair, toothy smile and musical and songwriting chops.

Swift also shares Mitchell's socially conscious and charitable spirit. We think she's more than perfect for this part!
