Not only does Halloween mark the day our favorite trio of all time (Harry, Ron and Hermione) officially became friends, but it's a special day in the muggle world, as well. J.K. Rowling has graced us all with six brand new Harry Potter stories! That's right, fellow squibs, not one, not two but SIX brand new stories! We know we're not alone in saying this: The more Harry Potter the better!

For those who aren't registered with Pottermore, Vulture has some exciting info about the tales to share.

One of the stories reportedly details the inspiration behind the dreadful Professor Umbridge. Basing the character on a teacher she strongly disliked, J.K. Rowling explained : "I have noticed more than once in life that a taste for the ineffably twee can go hand-in-hand with a distinctly uncharitable outlook on the world. Her desire to control, to punish, and to inflict pain, all in the name of law and order, are, I think, every bit as reprehensible as Lord Voldemort’s unvarnished espousal of evil." (Quotes via Vulture.) Considering how vile Umbridge turned out to be in the series, we completely see where she's coming from.

The other stories are just as interesting, as she also did a character study on Professor Trelawney, on the mysterious thestrals, on the various Ministers of Magic and even on the origin of Wizard names. Finally, sticking with the political undertones that were present throughout the Harry Potter series, J.K. Rowling wrote a story about Azkaban, the infamous wizard prison that feels more like a death sentence than imprisonment.

What do you guys think of the new stories? We know you're still waiting for your Hogwarts acceptance letter (so are we), so in the meantime check out J.K.'s fresh batch of stories on Pottermore!
