Celebrity makeup artist Jake Bailey was reportedly found dead from an apparent suicide earlier today (October 23).

According to TMZ, Bailey (whose celebrity clients include huge stars like Katy Perry, Selena Gomez and Mariah Carey) was found in his Los Angeles home by his assistant, who called 911 when Bailey was unresponsive. Reports say Bailey's death has been attributed to carbon monoxide poisoning, though a full autopsy will take place for official confirmation.

Actress and singer-songwriter Emmy Rossum tweeted about the sad news after hearing of Bailey's untimely passing. She wrote, "I am gutted to hear of my friend Jake's passing. I saw him on Sunday, we flew together on a plane. He made me laugh as always. @ByJakeBailey."

According to Gossip Cop, Bailey worked often with Katy Perry, serving as the makeup artist behind her look at the Met Gala, as well as her Cosmopolitan, Elle, Billboard and Vogue covers, among others. He also worked with numerous other celebrities, including Angelina Jolie, Cameron Diaz, Nina Dobrev, Zoe Saldana, Gwen Stefani and more.

MTV says Bailey also worked on the makeup for Selena Gomez’s Pantene campaign as well as her “Good For You” music video. He often posted photos of his work over on his Instagram account.

Bailey, who was 37-years-old at the time of his death, last posted a photo to Instagram of himself yesterday (October 22). Our condolences go out to his family and friends during this time.
