Cat fight alert! Former 'American Idol' contestants Adam Lambert and James Durbin -- neither of whom won the crown during their respective seasons -- had some parting words for one another and a possible feud is brewing. Durbin was voted off last week, and Lambert told The Hollywood Reporter that he was tiring of Durbin as the competition wound down. Ouch!

"(I’m) kind of over (James)," Lambert says. "I think he's got talent and passion 100 percent, but I feel like he's trying way too hard. Also, his niche is so limited with the metal. When he did that 'heavy metal' song, James was note-perfect. He was on pitch, which is usually kind of an issue, and I think he sounded really good, but it felt like a copycat." A copycat of whom, dear Adam? Perhaps of your own flamboyant self?

Lambert performed on the show a few weeks ago and no signs of trouble ensued at the time. However, Durbin responded to Lambert's catty comments in an interview with MTV, saying, "I was nothing (but) nice to that guy and you know, he decided to take it to a different level. Whatever." The Durbs didn't feel like Lambert's verbal swipe affected or impacted his status on the show or with viewers. He remarked on the 'Today' show that all good things come to an end, saying, "Well, it seemed like a blessing can turn into a curse and a curse can turn into a blessing. You know, I felt like I had a perfect night the night before. It felt too good."

Durbin took the high road here; let's see if Lambert responds. Overall, Lambert has been causing a little bit of trouble lately, with his comments in the press about Durbin and he was reportedly booted from Lady Gaga's birthday party in L.A. in late March for behaving poorly. Maybe Lambs needs to check himself before he wrecks his relationships with fellow pop stars beyond all repair.
