Tonight on 'American Idol,' contestants are bringing double the songs once again. For the first round, the final four have to choose songs that inspire them, and James Durbin chose a perfectly appropriate track -- Journey's classic 1981 hit, 'Don't Stop Believing.'

Durbin emerged onstage tonight atop the 'Idol' staircase decked in Journey-inspired garb. The singer channeled frontman Steve Perry both in body and spirit, as he wore a blazer with long coattails and tight blue jeans (not to mention a Journey concert tee).

The 'Idol' hopeful started off his pyrotechnic-filled performance in a toned down manner, saving his big notes for the end of his performance. As Durbin hit the massive "somewhere in the night" line, he nearly blew the roof off the auditorium, drawing out the high note to the point where we thought he would turn blue in the face.

Both the audience and the judges loved Durbin's rendition of the Journey song, with Steven Tyler giving his praises, saying, "A little indication of what's yet to come." J. Lo also loved Durbin, commending him on the high register in which he can sing. Randy Jackson, who used to play with Journey quite a bit, also loved the Durbs, saying, "That was the highest degree of difficulty and you did it!"

Durbin rocked the stage like he always does, delivering a great performance that is both entertaining to watch and listen to. Here's to hoping Durbin makes it another week!
