James Durbin took a big sip of 'Love Potion No. 9' for his second song on tonight's 'American Idol.' Durbin turned the song into a rock 'n' roll, Durbin-ized anthem -- especially after heeding Lady Gaga's advice during the mentoring session, which was to loosen up and to move his hips. Gaga impressed upon Durbin the fact that movement of body is as important as the range of his voice for this song. She even got behind him and gyrated with him, helping him to move with the song and make it sexy.

When Durbin performed the song on stage, he owned it, especially with his uber-dramatic ending, where he paused and looked at the crowd before delivering the final bars of the song. Gaga certainly helped Durbin learn how to attack this song with a vengeance.

Jennifer Lopez said, "That showed me that you can sing anything. I wasn't sure about that song for you. You told me that I was absolutely wrong. You put that 'James thing' on it."

Randy Jackson said that Durbin is peaking at the right time and having a moment every single week.

With the judges cooing over every move he makes, if they wield any sort of influence over the voting public, this competition is James Durbin's to take.
