Jason Derulo promises not to get bogged down by relationship issues on 'Make It Up As We Go,' a new track from his 'Future History' album.

The MOBO Awards co-host isn't sure if he and his love interest are in an actual relationship, but he's not worrying about such silly details. "We no don’t need a label," he sings. "What we got is sexy."

Alongside an up-tempo beat with synth accents, Derulo sings, "Don’t stop the party, it’s just getting started / Make it up as we go / I know you want it, I’m all up on it / What we got is sexy, what we got is sexy / Baby come undress me / Let’s make it up as we go."

This is not a song Derulo would have written at eight years old, but it's appropriate for a situation in which two people want to have fun and enjoy the moment with "no strings attached."

The track has a decent hook but doesn't quite reach out and grab us like 'Don't Wanna Go Home' and 'It Girl,' the first two singles from 'Future History.' It feels like something is missing ... And perhaps that something is Rick Ross? A remix of 'Make It Up As We Go' featuring Ross has also surfaced online. It's unclear whether the solo version or the remix will make the album.

'Future History' arrives on Sept. 27 and will also include the recently-leaked track 'That's My Shhh.'
