The proverbial "they" say that you're never, ever supposed to say "never." Well, actor Jason Priestley sorta did just that and in one fell swoop, he crushed and destroyed the hopes and dreams of original 'Beverly Hills, 90210' fans.

Priestley, now 44 and best remembered for his role as the series' character-with-a-conscience Brandon Walsh, said that the original cast will not be reuniting onscreen. But he didn't say never, like, ever, so we're hoping and praying for some wiggle room.

"I can say with 100 percent confidence that there is not a 'Beverly Hills, 90210' reunion coming up on the horizon," Priestley, a Canadian, said.

There is no beef or anything like that. It's just that the cast members are spread too far and wide to make something work logistically. It'd be a scheduling nightmare.

"We all like each other very much and have a good time whenever we see each other," the actor said. "But we all have very divergent careers at this point, and I think the opportunities to get us all in the same place at the same time are just few and far between."

He said "divergent." We just want to point that out. Also, it's worth noting that scheduling issues are surmountable obstacles. We don't fear divergent career paths or scheduling headaches, Priestley.

And since we're eternal optimists, notice he said "on the horizon." That means nothing is planned for the immediate future. But what about the not-so-immediate future?

We'll continue to have hope. Quick, someone put the bug in Luke Perry's ear. Perhaps he can talk some sense into his former small screen cohort! '90s nostalgia is booming right now and the decade cannot be properly represented without '90210.'
