Can you believe it? With only a week away before 'Watch the Throne' hits iTunes and already Jay-Z and Kanye West are reportedly fighting behind the scenes. Or are they?

According to a blind item in the New York Post, Hov and Yeezy (aka the Throne) are not talking to each other because of their creative differences for their upcoming 'Watch the Throne' tour. Apparently, West wants an over-the-top stage production, which would cost over $400,000 per show, while Jay-Z wants a low-budget set since he has to pay Live Nation back a huge advance that the entertainment company gave him.

"Jay-Z can't deal with Kanye," said an insider close to the situation. "Jay is a stone-cold businessman. He wants to recoup all of his money from Live Nation. But Kanye wants to upstage rock stars with a blowout show. He doesn't care about costs. He has a lot less to gain from the shows."

What kind of story is this? First of all, two millionaires fighting over the biggest tour of the fall season? We don't believe it. And who says, "stone-cold" nowadays? Are we living in the 60s? Who's your source NYPost, Cheech and Chong?

Anyway, if this story is true, we don't understand what the fuss is all about. The rap kings don't need any gimmicky productions for their stage show. Jay-Z and Yeezy should simply take it back to the old-school -- two turntables and a microphone.

As we previously reported, the rap duo will embark on a North American tour starting Sept. 22 in Detroit. Fans can cop pre-sales tickets on Tuesday (Aug. 2) at 10AM ET before they become available to the public on Aug. 8.

Jay-Z and Kanye West's 'Watch the Throne' album will hit iTunes on Aug. 8 with physical copies arriving in stores on Aug. 12.

[UPDATE (Aug. 2)]: As we expected, the NYPost story was stone-cold bunk. Jay-Z has denied the rumors that he was feuding with Kanye West over the 'Watch the Throne' tour. "Kanye’s my brother. Yes, we get on each other’s nerves. We push each other to be greater. I would never disrespect that man or put my hands on him," he says.

If you want further proof, the rap kings were all smiles at their 'Watch the Throne' listening event at New York's Hayden Planetarium at the American Museum of Natural History.
