Jennifer Hudson has reached a critical point in her fame where the fact that she voted off Season 3 of  'American Idol' can be left off her decorated resume.

Billboard reports that the Oscar winning actress, who has shed more than 80 lbs. on the Weight Watchers program, has signed a deal to write a memoir about her battles with her weight and subsequent dramatic weight loss. Dutton, an imprint of Penguin Group, will publish the as-yet untitled book, due out in January 2012.

Hudson's weight has yo-yoed through the years. She gained 20 lbs. for her role as Effie in 'Dreamgirls,' for which she was awarded her Oscar. She eventually became a Weight Watchers spokesperson, shrinking from a size 16 to a size 6 in the process. Her newly knockout figure is seen (and her soaring voice heard) on Weight Watchers commercials that are played dozens of times per day.

Hudson recently signed on to play a nun in the upcoming 'Three Stooges' movie. Her new alum, 'I Remember Me,' is her sophomore set and it came out in March and to date has sold nearly 340,000 copies.
