Hollywood ‘it’ girl Jennifer Lawrence recently sat down with Marie Claire to talk red carpet falls, boyfriend Nicholas Hoult and more.

The 23-year-old actress has a lot going on these days. She’s promoting the soon-to-be released ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past,’ filming the second installment of ‘The Hunger Games,’ and generally dealing with the stressful position that comes with being one of the most recognized names in the business.

So how does she handle it?

“The only thing I can do is work hard and do my best and be myself,” she told Marie Claire in the June 2014 issue.

That’s a pretty admirable mindset when dealing with the constant criticism of being in the public eye. Following Jennifer’s 2014 Academy Awards appearance, hate for the ‘Hunger Games’ lead began to grow on the internet due to a theory implying that all those trips, slips, and falls are a contrived part of her image.

The star is aware of the backlash, admitting she’s read all about it online. “I’m trying to do the right thing, waving to the fans, trying to be nice, and there’s a traffic cone. The second I hit it, I was laughing, but on the inside I was like, ‘You’re f---ed. They’re totally going to think this is an act.’”

Clumsy though she may be, J. Law seems to have a good head on her shoulders, especially when dealing with a long-distance relationship with her ‘X-Men’ costar, Nicholas Hoult.

“It’s hard when you’re both working,” she admitted. “It’s important to keep your individuality when you’re a couple and keep your own life … Life’s super-busy. Obviously you know what they’re doing, and you trust them.”

The self-deprecating Oscar winner doesn’t give herself enough credit for the position she’s in and her positive outlook on dealing with that lifestyle. Even with all of the stress she’s under, Marie Claire reports that Jennifer is “the nicest, coolest, most grounded and hilarious superstar …” And we’re inclined to agree!
