Jennifer Lopez's new memoir 'True Love' hits shelves on Nov. 4, and according to quotes from the book released by The Huffington Post,  it's filled with explosive details about her past relationships. Going as far as naming names, Jennifer really lets readers know exactly why her relationships with superstars Marc Anthony and Ben Affleck didn't work out.

She talks about the time she and Ben Affleck broke off their engagement and how deeply it effected her. That intense pain sent her back to the arms of another ex -- Marc Anthony -- just so she could feel loved again: "When Ben and I split up at the moment when I thought we were committing to each other forever it was my first real heartbreak, it felt like my heart had been torn out of my chest. People do lots of things to anesthetize themselves in moments like these. Some people do drugs, some drink and some go out and party. I sought out comfort in another person, tried to find someone who could make me feel loved and wanted in my loneliest hours. And that was the moment when Marc reappeared in my life." (Quote via Huffington Post.)

She then goes on to detail the emotional abuse she's suffered at the hands of loved ones: "I've never gotten a black eye or a busted lip, but I've been in relationships where I have felt abused one way or another: mentally, emotionally, verbally. I know what it feels like to for your soul to be diminished by the way your loved one is treating you ... maybe it's a push, a shove or a nasty word that stays with you." (Quote via Huffington Post.)

It wasn't until she went to therapy that she realized she was worth more than what she was getting out of her relationships: "The biggest lightbulb that went off was that I realized I wasn't recognizing the value of my own love. I never stopped to consider just how special my love was. I never stopped to look at myself and say, You know what? You deserve a love that is pure and special and good as the one you're giving. Your love has value." (Quote via Huffington Post.)

She also talks about the exact moment she and Marc Anthony decided to split up. She says she recognized an inherent unhappiness that existed between the two of them, but that they were trying to maintain a united front for the sake of their children. When Jennifer ultimately went to Marc and revealed she was unhappy enough to end the marriage, a small part of her still hoped he would fight for their relationship: "Deep down, I still wanted him to put up a fight for our family. But instead, he said, "Okay." On July 15, 2011, we made the public announcement that we were going to divorce. Hardest. Day. Ever." (Quote via Huffington Post.)

The takeaway from everything she's been through? Once Jennifer recognized her own worth she was able to truly love someone else: "What was loving yourself, anyway? Nobody teaches us what that means, but now I've discovered that it's the key to life -- because it's the key to loving someone else and allowing others to love you." (Quote via Huffington Post.)

We have to commend Jennifer on opening up about some very private details of her life, in what will undoubtedly help others who are going through the same thing. Be sure to check out her book when it hits stores next week on Nov. 4.
